This Week in Creative AI
Spooky For All The Right Reasons

Thanks for reading the very first edition of Real Creative! Every week we’ll send out a short list of some of the most innovative ways AI is being used to build new creative projects.
You can find all of these projects below at realcreative.ai. You can also view over 300 additional AI projects there including video, art, gaming, music and more.
This Week’s Favorites
Blind to Time
Paul Trillo
A delightfully terrifying example of combining NeRFs and generative style transfers, director Paul Trillo takes spatial scans of an abandoned Sri-Lankan building using Luma AI and transforms them into a spooky short with RunwayML’s Gen1. Combining these technologies is still a relatively new practice, and Paul does an excellent job of showing just how dynamic stacking these tools can be.
AI Nightmare
Nicolas Neubert
Hauntingly timed for the season, this horror-themed rap video for Toronto-based rapper JUGGER gives us the creeps — in a good way 😈 Filmmaker Nicolas Neubert collaborated with Red Bull Records to imagine scenes from our favorite nightmares for this track off the artist’s new album PUPPET MASTER. Dark foggy streets, floating bodies, figures cloaked in black, red eyes in the night; it’s got everything to give you the season’s best scares.
Gaussian Subway
Karen X. Cheng
Karen X. Cheng showcases the mesmerizing potential of Gaussian Splatting, a technique that used to require expensive equipment but is now accessible on your phone. Using the app Luma AI, she takes us on a holographic subway journey, capturing the essence of each location with just her smartphone, masterfully controlling the camera's direction as it pans across the scenes. Karen consistently tests new tech & shows her followers how they can use it themselves.
Misspelled Wonders of the World
Alvaro Cintas
This project puts a clever twist on the mundane. Alvaro Cintas created a delightful series of images misinterpreting Wonders of the World using DALL-E 3, where he produces playful representations of the mixup. Who doesn’t love some wholesome fun?
Delightful examples include:
Eiffel Tower → Eiffel Towel
The White House → The White Mouse
Machu Picchu → Macho Pikachu
Nine Famous Sayings
Dave Villalva
Using Runway’s Gen2, Dave Villalva brought to life parables we all know and, until now, could only imagine. Explorations include “head in the clouds”, “raining cats and dogs” and “skating on thin ice” — which someone should make into gifs to text to strangers.
Thanks for reading!
We’re so glad you tuned in. We’d be honored if you’d share this with fellow creatives, AI aficionados, and everyone in between!
